Samsung is a conglomerate of multinational companies headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. It is the largest South Korean business conglomerate with numerous affiliated businesses such as the consumer electronics, technology, finances, insurance companies, construction, biotechnology and the service sector. It has become a referent of the economic model of big conglomerates which promoted the economic transformation of South Korea. Since 1990 it has expanded internationally through its electronics, especially home appliances, cellular phones and semiconductors.
