About the brand

OSRAM Licht AG (worldwide known as Osram) is a German company and global leader in optical solutions headquartered in Munich, Germany. Its name comes from the words: osmium and wolfram (also called tungsten) as both these elements were the ones commonly used for light bulb filaments when the company was founded.  Osram positions itself as an avant-garde and high-tech photonics company which is more and more focused on sensor technology, visualization and treatment by light.
