About the company

Motorola is an American telecommunication and consumer electronics company. It is affiliated to the Chinese technological conglomerate Lenovo. The company mainly manufactures smart phones and other mobile gadgets which operate the Android system. In 2011, Motorola Inc. was split in two independent companies. Motorola Mobility was born as a spin-off and since then it has been in charge of the company’s consumer-oriented product lines while Motorola Solutions assumed the company’s business-oriented product lines such as servers and telecommunication networks after the renaming of the original name, that’s why Motorola Solutions became the legal successor of Motorola.
