About the Company

BASF is a German and multinational chemical company founded in 1865 in the city of Ludwigshafen, so as to produce aniline and dyes. It is the largest chemical producer in the world outclassing Dow Chemical Company and DuPont, and it ranked first in sales for sales in 2008. Its main factory has become the biggest integrated chemical industrial park in the world, with a total surface of 10 square kilometers, (3,86 square miles / 2471 acres). It employs around 109,000 people around the world.
